Street lights (PJU) along three protocol roads in South Jakarta will be turned off in the fourth week of March 2022, which aims to save electricity consumption and reduce carbon emission in Jakarta.

It refers to the Jakarta Governor's Instruction number 14/2021

Development and Environment Division Head, Imam Bahri said those lights would be off for one hour starting at 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM, including Jalan Prapanca, HR Rasuna Said, and Sudirman.

"It refers to the Jakarta Governor's Instruction number 14/2021," he expressed, Thursday (3/3).

He expressed the same action would also be applied to several buildings from Sampoerna Strategic to Patung Pemuda.

He explained that the South Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency was still considering it on Jalan HR Rasuna Said considering that some points were still experiencing damage due to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.

"This is feared to trigger an accident when the lights are turned off. We will hold a follow-up meeting next week for the final decision," he added.
